I work in Downtown Detroit, and used to have lunch at Maverick's prior to its brief closure. At that time the food was good and the service matched. Since it's reopened the menu choices are all still excellent but the service is terrible. I've eaten there 3 times since the reopening, hoping that it would get better and it has not. I won't be going back.
Ribs were nicely cooked and has the smoked flavor- loved it, the sauce is vinegar based (mild, medium, hot), Usually i only love the sweet sauce but this was a nice surprise, they r a cheerful bunch as well. Not many side dishes(greens, mac cheese) bu

My husband works in Charlottesville and always takes people to Maverick's for business lunches. He has never been disappointed. He especially likes their Kansas City Steak Soup. We've been there for dinner as well and enjoyed it a lot.

Maverick's seemed like it would be a good time, but it proved otherwise! The service took forever! Ask for anything, and you won't be getting it for another 5 minutes at least. The food was less than ok, and seemed to only offer the barest necessities. I left quite unsatisfied with my experience there, and will be asking for a refund.
