The resturant was very dirty and the ower was very loud and grouchy. H e was yelling at his employees and scratching himslef. I wouldn't dare eat anything in there. I going to call the health department. I rather eat pizza off the floor of NY subway.

This was by far the best pizza I've ever eaten. Tucked into an out of the way neighborhood in the Bayway section of Elizabeth,Santillo's is well worth looking for(and not at all hard to find). There is no front entrance and no dining room. Take out service is accessed by going down the driveway on the side. Once in, there is a small take out counter presided over by a very friendly owner. The bakery behind the counter is immaculate and the smell of fresh bread is intoxicating. There are no gourmet pies with crazy ingredients here-just good, honest old-fashioned pies, each named for the year they were created. We tried the 1957 which was everything good pizza should be-a thin crispy crust, perfectly aged cheese, great sauce with a lovely undercurrent of basil. Can't wait to go back again and again to sample the rest of the menu.
