Absolutely one of the best Cajun restaurants anywhere! The menu is broad but the obvious concentration is their Cajun cuisine. Every option on the menu from the gumbo to the catfish is fantastic. If you have difficulties deciding what to order, choose the Al T's special. Your meal will be loaded with a sampling of 13 things from the menu. Everything from fried oysters, Shrimp, stuffed crab, gumbo, boudin to some of the best crawfish etoffee I’ve ever eaten. I go out of my way, regardless of the time restraints, to stop at this easy to locate dining treasure! On currently on trip 31 and I have yet to receive great customer service or had issue with my meal. Additionally.... I always pick up a bottle of the Al T's Dipping sauce for the road!

Don't waste the gas. I see mine is the only review in 2009. We made a day of it with the in-laws to drive over last Saturday. Sure, the catfish is good and the refined crust is different, the gumbo was good but NOT the best in Texas let alone Louisiana. Etoufee, just okay as was the oyster poboy. My wife's C.F.S. was so bad I suggested she send it back, but she didn't want to "cause any trouble". While paying at the register the hostess asked how our lunch experience was so I was honest. Then I learned Al-T's has a buffet lunch and C.F.S. was one item offered. I told her I thought ours was not made to order and it had been under the heat lamp for an hour. She replied "That could be, I'm sorry she didn't enjoy it." I heard this as "I don't care." If you find yourself in Winnie go form your own opinion but a Houstonian can find better food a WHOLE lot closer to home.

Not worth the drive. Service was poor along with the food. Had people from out of state who wanted Cajun food. What a disappointment. Will not go back.

Have been here twice at a friend's recommendation. 1st time, wasn't too impressed with the food. for a cajun restaurant the fried food was not seasoned enough for my taste. Decided to give it another chance since my friend insisted that the steaks were really good there. I ordered that 6oz. ribeye, medium. It came back well done. Politely sent it back. Next steak came out wasn't even a ribeye. There was no marbeling in it like a ribeye should be. It was rather tough. it looked like a lean sirloin or a cheaper cut steak. I ate half and left it there. I felt cheated that I was given a cheaper piece of meat and not the ribeye. It wasn't even medium. I give up. Alligator was good but could use more seasoning either on the flour coating or the inside. Gumbo was tasty but too watery. Will not go back. The restroom was very clean though, that's a good thing.

Me and my family have been going to Al-T's for several years. It has the BEST etouffee in Texas! I haven't had anything that I haven't liked yet. If you want REALLY GOOD CAJUN FOOD , go to Al-T's. You won't be dissappointed.FIVE STARS!

This restuarant has the finest cajun food in this part of Texas. The atmosphere and people there are great. Their tasso is the best I have ever had.
