Restaurant Description

Amelie's... a French Bakery first opened the doors to it's NoDa location in May of 2008. It's goal was to serve the community of NoDa and it's neighbors as a small, neighborhood pastry shop. It quickly grew, and less than a year later, the bakery unlocked it's doors, vowing to remain open twenty four hours a day, every day. It's doors have not been locked since.

Locally owned and operated, Amelie's serves gourmet coffees from local roastery Dilworth Coffees and fresh baked French pastries and confections from expert chefs, some of whom attended Charlotte's own Johnson & Wales University. Amelie's also serves an array of delicious soups, sandwiches, salads and tartines, which come from time-honored family recipes as well as new and cutting edge creations.

Known for its “Paris shabby-chic” interior as well as it's unprecedented operating hours of twenty four hours a day, every day, Amelie's has become a hub for night owls, early birds and everyone in between. Reminiscent of the café scene of Montmartre, the famous bohemian zone in Paris, Amelie's is a home away from home for grassroots politicians, modern day revolutionaries, starving artists, businessmen and women, students and lots and lots of architects. The staff at Amelie's is equally diverse, ranging in background from Ph d's to high-schoolers and of every race, origin and creed. First opened in 2008 by owners Bill Lamb and Lynn St. Laurent, Amelie's has grown from a small neighborhood pastry shop to well-known establishment with a staff of close to sixty.

Opened in September of 2010, Amelie's Uptown will strive to bring a bit of artsy NoDa fun as well as a delicious alternative to lunch time in the heart of Charlotte's banking district. Complete with Amelie's signature blue striped walls and an array of handmade chandeliers and decorations by co-owner Brenda Ische of Ische Interiors, this small former coffee shop has been converted into a comfortable space for approximately twenty that invites you to either sit and stay a while, people watch while sipping a café au lait on our patio, or grab a quick bite on the way to or from the office.

I have always loved going to pewter rose. The atmosphere is very interesting. Brunch on Sundays is amazing. It is a great place for wine apps or dessert!!!!! Any time any of my friends or associates have an event, we plan it here!

My wife and I went to this restaraunt for our anniversary. We were completely unimpressed. The food was nothing special and the prices were much too high. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
