dined at Aqua with my family this past weekend and had a wonderful experience.
Decided to try the "Sunset Special" menu and was well worth it. Not only was the price a bargain but the food was great.
Having formal training in culinary arts I consider myself a "culinarian." I've eaten in fine restaurants in many major cities. I appreciate when the whole dining experience comes together as one, not simply having large portions of pre-prepared food dropped on the table ala chain restaurants.
Decor and ambiance was nice, service excellent (Tim was our server), food fresh and well prepared, and portions appropriate for "better" cuisine. We left satisfied but not gorged. Obviously there is a chef in the kitchen versus an Outback steakhouse cook. Needless to say I'll be back to try the full menu very soon.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. A true sign of a good restaurant is the quality of the after dinner coffee...outstanding!
Keep up the good work.

Excellent, freshly cooked food at a very reasonable price. Had lunch, the lobster roll sandwich was delicious with lots of fresh lobster. The chopped salad was wonderful, delicious and very fresh. The trio of hamburger, crab burger and grouper burger also excellent. Plan on going back many times,

Delightful, absolutely delightful. Our first visit to Aqua restaurant last Saturday evening was the nicest surprise we have experienced in Sarasota dining in many years. The ambience, the welcome by the hostess, our great server, Tim, the visit to our table by Chef Matt, the presentation and the excellent food to match it made this the most enjoyable evening. We can't stop raving to our friends, who will also be joining us in future. Can't wait to return. Marilyn & Fritz Himmelsbach
