I had never been to Azucar, it always looked nice from the outside with wrought iron gates and a lit up purple sign. We decided to go for dinner this past Saturday night before attending a concert at the XL Center. What a mistake. I will never return here. The ambiance in the dining area was bizzare, no music, no customers (well 4 people). We ordered a bottle of wine, the woman or otherwise the ONLY staff there, told us that they were re-doing their wine list and flipped to the only page of available wines. What a joke! There were bottles from $350-$1,500 on that page! To go along with my rice-a-roni and tough, fishy shrimp?!?!? HA! Not to mention that we told the waitress we were going to a show and dinner came out 1 hour and 10 minutes after we ordered it! We were served five minutes before the lastest time we could possibly leave. What a nightmare. I guess this place is more of a latin dancing mecca, regardless, they say they are a restaurant. Well not one we will be patronizing ever again. :) Oh, and I almost forgot, the toilets in the women's room do not flush and the mens room had a hole in the wall the size of a basketball.
This past Monday a friend invited me and two of our book club ladies out to dinner, we all enjoyed our meal, and the prompt services we recived. The food was great, we also had a very nice waitress. I was most impress with the resturant manager wal

Good comfort food in large portions. Veal dish was very good but the shrimp dish seemed a bit overdone. Sausage and peppers were fine. Service was attentive, prompt, and pleasant.
I love coming to Francescos for the great music, the Italian food, the cocktails and the overall experience. If you haven't been to Francesco's you better go there soon!!
