I have been eating at Barnes for almost 30 years and I love it. Nothing else in the country compares to it. Their pulled pork, bbq sauce, and brunswick stew are amazing. Everytime I am in Savannah I go to Barnes.

Eat at Barnes frequently and find their service as good as most other restaurants.
If you get takeout check your order and if you are short on any sauce, etc they will happily give you more.
Prices are somewhat higher than some other places but not prohibitively so.
A recent remodel makes seating better for those that like to dine in and separate entrances for take outs and sit down has made the restaurant better.
I've been eating at Carey Hilliards for the past 25 years...the food and service is ALWAYS great. And now they have the "value" menu so I can eat for about $5....and not be miserably full when I leave there. We ate at the one in pooler last night and

I come to Savannah every year in seach of bar-b-que and let me tell you Barnes is awful!!!! They skimp on thier bar-b-que sauce that is too vinegary anyway and the meat is overly fatty. The prices are a little high too compared to other resturaunts in the area. The sweet tea is watered down and not even a little sweet. The wait staff was obnoxious also. I will never patronize this establishment again!
