My 83 year old mother and I stopped in this restaurant tonight for a bite to eat and we had one of the worst dinning experiences ever!!
The pizza was so salty that it was inedible and the Italian Wedding Soup was disgusting. We told the Waitress about the pizza and the owner ran over to our table saying loudly "my pizza is salty, that's hard to believe, I can't believe it's too salty". We did not even mention the soup as we did not want to start a riot.
When the bill came, we were charged $1.75 per glass of regular tap water (equaling $3.50 for our 2 glasses of water). When I asked the owner about the charge she said that she has to pay for straws and glasses and has to pass this cost on to the customer (even though the glasses were plastic and washable). They charged us for the pizza that we sent back and gave us a very hard time about deducting this item from the bill. The owner said "your mother eat half of the slice". I explaind that she did not eat half of her slice, she took 2 bites only. I cut my pizza in half and only eat a portion of one of the halves. I did not mention that my pizza was also extremly salty. I did not ask them to take the charges for my pizza off the bill either. I simply did not eat it.
The restaurant owner nastely agreed to take my mother's slice of pizza and the 2 glasses of water off the bill but only deducted $2.00 when the charge was $3.50 for the water and $2.00 for the pizza. Our bill came to over $27,00 for 1 entree of pasta with vodka sauce, 1 cannolli. and 1 inedible slice of pizza.
I have lived in this town for 33 years and never had a problem with this restaurant under the old management. I will never, ever go back to Bella Capri again and I will advise all my friends and neighbor's to avoid this restaurant like the plague.
