great food, service and drinks--wonderful private party room for all your work and family events--we have had many of ours here--christmas parties, baby showers,rehersal dinners,always a excellent time!!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in GR! Everyone that we have ever told about this restaurant is now hooked. You can't go wrong--awesome place, awesome service, awesome value (kids eat free on Mondays) and awesome food!!!

delicious, filling. i really like the cantina. i'vetried all the other mexican restaurants in GR and i think the cantina is the best. it's very consistant and i always have a great meal, not to mention the best margaritas in town by far. overall, a fun relaxing place to eat

Visited La Cantina last Friday and had a great experience. I recommend the Flauta and the house margarita. Service was great. Tall blond waiter named Mike did an awesome job. Very friendly place. Great value.

This place was rather disappointing. When it comes to mexican options in Grand Rapids I would recommend Beltline Bar over this place hands down.

Great local restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere. Yummy food. Good drinks. My family has been dining at this restaurant weekly for ten years. Good memories. Good food.

Service leaves a bit to be desired downstairs and it tends to be very smokey down there, however the service we received recently upstairs was great and smoke free. A few of our orders were not made correctly and had to be sent back, but the food always taste great! Best enchiladas in town.

My family and I have been coming to this resturant since I was able to walk and 30 years later, It is still our staple resturant in the GR area. The food is awesome, the chips and dips are rockin, nice atmosphere. This is the best non-chain place in MI. Enjoy!

We enjoyed the food and the setup of the restaurant. The bartenders were very friendly.We were greeted by the manager, it seemed nice but she was disoriented, sweaty, and older than my grandmother.I feel for them waitresses having to put up with her. The margaritas made it all worth it.Keep up the good work bartenders.

HORRIBLE service. Not only did our server lie about how much our margaritas would cost but my credit card was overcharged double what our meal cost. It took them 1 month to fix it and the management was rude and unwilling to apologize for the mix up. I will NEVER go back, I don't care how good the food is.

I think the only people who have problems with this resturaunt are those who are high-maitenance diners. The food is great and I've never had a problem with the service! The price is more than reasonable. The bean dip is awesome and my favorite meal is the chicken guacamole salad! I've been here several times over the years and it's my favorite Mexican place! Don't pass on the margaritas!

Very Poor Service--We won't be back!!! My friends and I had lunch at La Cantina last weekend and were very disappointed in the rude, disrespectful attitude of the wait staff and bartender. The waitress quoted me one price for my food, but the actual bill was $3 more than what she quoted. When we asked her to correct my bill we were told, "There's nothing I can do about that." When we insisted something be done and asked for the manager she said, "There's no manager here. We can't change the bills." Meanwhile, there were 4 or 5 other employees loitering and snacking about 3 tables down from us, and making sarcastic remarks about my party and laughing at us. After lengthy discussion and a threat to file a complaint, they did take $2 off my bill. In addition to this, the waitress had our cups of sour cream, etc. stuffed into her pants pockets (God knows what else was/had been in there!). She was chomping a mouthful of food ... very appetizing to see crumbs spew out when she spoke to us.

I love mexican food and this is the best i have found in town by far. I have been comin here for years, they do go through stages with bad waiters but it's a great atmosphere and great prices.

Best Mexican restaurant in Grand Rapids. Free Bean dip with meal and nice atmosphere in the back part especially. We love the fajitas and Wet burritos especially.Service?Never had much of a problem except you sometimes have to ask for refills on chips and drinks instead of the waiter just refilling automatically.Otherwise adequate service.

It's our regular family night out. The staff is usually competent and very friendly. Yes, you do get an occasional bad waiter/waitress - but I notice they don't stick around long. Great food and SUPER margaritas for reasonable $!

The food was really good but the service was horrible. I had to go look for our waitress to get our chips and salsa. She said she asked someone to bring them to us. I guess after 15 minutes and bringing others their chips, it never dawned on her that we were still sitting there without ours. She also never once mentioned the bean dip they offer. She came back a couple of times to check on us and then brought us the bill, she never asked us if we wanted desert. The place was freezing cold, even all the way to the back. It was just not a good dining experience.

The service isn't the best but the food and prices are worth it! Don't expect much there until you have the food, it'll keep you coming back for more!

The waitress couldn't answer any of our questions i.e. what do you have on draft, can I get the steak without the sauce, and she never was around when we needed her. For example when my steak needed to be sent back because it was still raw when I asked for medium rare. I love my steak to be pink, even a little red, but the purple raw center was too much for me, not to mention all of our rice was uncooked. We were a group of 4 with 2 bills, and both came with errors and over charges, we were charged for food we never even recieved. The prices weren't too bad for the amount of food, but the tables were oddly placed and made it hard for us to enjoy conversations when we couldn't look at eachother. They really need to make the tables more condusive to groups and they must train their waitresses better!

The best Mexican good in Grand Rapids. You get a lot of food for your dollar!!
