We placed an appetizer order for sashimi and a volcano roll along with a couple of drafts. Our first clue was when she took the only menu she had brought us – even though we stated we would be ordering more. The food arrived fairly quickly – but she basically dumped it and ran – not even asking if we wanted another drink or water. She and some of the other waitresses were flirting with the beefy floor “managers” dressed in black suites. Evidently they didn’t want to be interrupted by having to wait on customers.
Twenty minutes later the wasabi and volcano roll were making my eyes water and I didn’t have a thing to drink – not even water. After 15 more minutes of trying to get our waiter’s attention I decided to confront one of the beefy “managers”.
His customer skills were even worse! He basically commanded me to return to my table and wait for service. I explained that I had been doing exactly that for over 30 minutes and I demanded my bill on the spot – even though I hadn’t finished half of my sashimi. (I was waiting for something liquid to cool the spicy food.)
This supposed “manager” didn’t even offer to pay for our appetizers and the 2 happy hour drafts. (Happy Hour had also ended while we were waiting for our drinks – which made me even madder.) I was left in an awkward position at the cash register trying to explain to the clerk that we wanted our check. It was quite embarrassing for us. Needless to say we left the restaurant with our stomachs in knots. For this is cost us $24.05.

First of all,you can't let one incident ruin an experience. The sushi is fresh and quite good. Service is good as well unless you go late at night during the weekend. It turns into a nightclub then. The management is Korean and anyone that has worked for Korean's will attest that they do things their own way. The manager does not care if you are not happy because PLENTY of other customers will go back time and time again. Chaucer's isn't going anywhere and it's good because the food and prices are great

Just say NO! I was really impressed with this place till Saturday. Let me start with the fact that I have been eating at the Frisco location 2 to 3 times a week since they opened Dec 12th. Not any more. They started having valet parking before 5pm. They took over half the parking and when I asked if there a special event the valet just grunted no and it's 3 dollars. When I asked where I could park again he grunted and pointed to the back. I drive a 560 horse Vette, NO ONE parks it. I complained to the manager. She said she was sorry and wanted me to talk to the valet. WAKE UP! Not my job. I told her I had a date coming and didn't want her treated like I had. I intercepted my date before she had to speak to this Neanderthal. When we where seated it was obvious that she had warned our waitress from all the blatant b** kissing. With the exception that I was informed that sushi happy hour was no more. The manager never came over again, did nothing to make us feel welcome. She did NOTHING. I wonder what that place will be next because it won't be Chaucer's when they alienate customers that have spent $500 to $600 in 6 weeks. Go to Kotta's at the toll way and Lebanon it's nicer for a date and the sushi is better.
