The China Chef restaurant is indeed a unheralded delight. The service is top notch and waitresses even have a sense of humor. The food is tried and true (excellent) from many years of experience. As the restaurant front is small, many of my friends think it is a take-out only. This is the best place in Chapel Hill to eat a Chinese lunch. Period. I recommending giving it a try. It's in Eastgate Shopping Center.

This nice little Chinese restaurant is hidden in Eastgate shopping center, and from the outside, it doesn't look like it has much to offer. If you do happen upon it though, you'll find a friendly and courteous staff and some of the best (though not the most authentic) Chinese food in Chapel Hill. Lunch prices are under $5 per entree - certainly a bonus.
