I don't know what happened, but they were open as of 032709 but maybe shouldn't have been. on 021409 they had the best seafood in town, even commented such to the manager, 032709, it was pukeola. Shrimp, scallops & the flounder ,plus cole slaw chopped instead of shredded & in a styrofoam cup, yuck. From best to worst??

Delicious seafood from Corky Bell's in Macon Georgia is a treat to return "home" to. I look forward to going out to dinner at Corky Bell's with my family when I revisit Macon. I miss quality seafood at decent prices living in land-locked Colorado. My father, Lee Martin and his wife, Susan Hanberry Martin are always really chatty with the affectionate staff, all of whom they seem to know like longtime school buddies! We always have fun when we dine at Corky Bell's! Many thanks to everyone at Corky Bell's for being so terrific.

Cordially,
Christina Martin

I enjoyed eating at Corky Bell's on Eisenhower for many years and was actually broken hearted when they closed. I became excited when I heard they would be reopening, even though it was in North Macon. I ate there today for the lst time since they've reopened and the whole catfish has no comparison to the Eisenhower Corky Bell's. The fish was tender, but the crust was terrible. It was more like Fish N Chips Seafood. Please Mr. Manager, go visit Polly's on Zebulon or Shannon's on Hartley Bridge and take your cook with you and get a good handle on how great catfish should taste.

one of my family works at this place..iconic or not the management there is has no feeling for its employees or their familys or intrest in rewarding hard work..the waitstaff is understaffed and over burdened and when time is needed for school work or other important personal time is needed it is often flat-out rejected with no concern or sympathy..Merry Christmas to you too

I recently visited this restaurant on Friday November 21th around 5:45pm. We were seated on arrival but the service was horrible. We had to get up to get out teas, the tables are to close together and the waitress never checked on us and left us someone else ticket. There is nowhere for anyone to wait except at the door and its to cold to wait outside so you have people breathing and watching you eat while standing over you. Change wait staff and get a bigger place and lower your prices.

Corky Bell's name came from two people. Two brothers went in business together and could not see eye to eye and separated.Though besides the name I would like to state the former owner had employees that had gave him 18+years of workmanship and shrived hard for the success it had became. With NO noticed to customers or to the employees who built that business he visited maybe 2x a year closed the doors to. There are hundreds of us that are thankful for previous customers investing their life earnings and reopening giving employee, patriots, and new comers the opportunity to still have what is known and lives up to being a AWESOME restaurant and shouldn't be slandered for his business name not being registered as a trade in ga.

I have purchased several dinners at the new Corky Bell's Restaurant on Riverside Drive Parkway "to go" and ate the meals later at work. First, the meals are somewhat pricey (expensive). Second, (and this is gross), I was eating a catfish fillet dinner and found a long dark brown hair between the fillets. I think the folks in the kitchen should start wearing hair nets. I am thinking about mailing the hair to the manager of the restaurant. It was hard to eat the rest of the meal, after I found the hair. I ended up throwing the meal away.

I have always loved Corky Bell's, I almost started to cry when I heard that it was closed. I quickly jumped for joy after leaning that it had reopened. The food was great as usually,I only experience one problem, and that was that my mother's food came out burnt! I don't know why anyone would send out food burnt! The Manager apoloized, but by the time she received her food we were done eating...other than that I would visit there again...I just hope this was a one time error as far as the burnt food goes.

While there are certainly still kinks to work out at the new location (especially in the area of more prompt service), I've seen these things improve in my last few visits to the new location. You might even notice that your server is just as frustrated with the wait times for customers as the customers are-- they live off of tips that they're not getting when food takes too long to arrive. I would also remind you that the great "Corky Bell" abandoned all of his licensing in Georgia, and without the current owners, there would be no restaurant fitting this unique niche in Macon at all.

I am disappointed to know that this is NOT the same as the one that was on Eisenhower Pkwy. The owner of that resturant did NOT sell the resturant to the current owner that is claiming to own the same resturant just under different ownership. It is a disgrace that someone would try to capitalize on someone else's name. Corky Bell is a real person, with real Corky Bell's resturants, and this is not one of them!!!!!

First time we tried the restaurant, they never mentioned they were out of shrimp until after a 15 minute wait to get our order. We decided to go! On our second visit we arrived about 8:00 PM & waited 45 minutes for our order to arrive. The server never mentioned the delay after taking the order(they didn't want us to leave). This is not acceptable service for a small seafood restaurant. It was pretty good food, nothing to make me want to return anytime soon! My dinner came about 9:30 PM after most of the other diners were leaving. I don't think this is same folks from the original "Corky Bells Seafood" on Eisenhower Parkway. As far as I can tell, they don't claim any connection.

I have been eating at this restaurant since I was 10 years old and I just turned 30 and have never had a bad experience there. The food has always been good and the service has always been some of the best I have ever experienced,I've received better service here on a regular basis than I ever have at Applebee's,Chili's,Ruby Tuesdays, just to name a few. This is my favorite restaurant and in my opinion the best seafood in the middle georgia area.Sure, the restaurant has always been in need of remodeling and more space and the restrooms aren't appealing but those are really nitpicking issues.I was extremely disappointed to see them close recently and hope they reopen soon cuz I'm anxiously waiting to eat there again!I read a negative review about the bad service of the waitresses but I have never been treated in any way but like family, even the hostess has sat down at my table to talk to me.

I have no clue what all you can eat in Macon, GA has to do with starving people in China, but I'm sorry you didn't enjoy this restaurant. Either way, I posted to say that CORKY BELL'S WILL BE REOPENING IN THE NEXT WEEK just off of Tom Hill Sr. Blvd., in the building that used to house Backyard Burger (solving the "facility" issues of the past and still tasting great!)

Does everyone know the purpose of the rule regarding no take-home box on AYCE? Apparently the wait-staff and management at Corky Bell's do not. For those who don't know, it's supposed to be for preventing people from getting 2nd and 3rd plates to feed folks at home on the price of one AYCE. I don't normally get AYCE, but a few weeks ago I did and could not even finish my first plate. I was not allowed a take-home box because "it's the rule". If it was a regular platter, no problemo, I'm sure. What were they planning on doing with that left-over food? Feeding it to the next customer? Apparently these people have never heard about the starving people in China!

Food is absolute wonderful. We eat there at least once a week. Seafood comes in fresh on Thursday so we try to visit within a couple days after the fresh seafood arrives. It is absolutely the best seafood place in Macon and the most food for the money spent.

The facility is not all that new and shows it's age. However, the seafood, all that I have had, is to die for. It's very good. I live 100 miles away and I visit there every chance I get. About 5 to 10 times a year.
