These other people giving 4 star reviews have got to put down the crack pipe. 4 *s should go to truly exceptional places.....Anyway, went to this place after a very good milkshake gotten at the county fair. (They had a booth) Like one other reviewer, a girl kept forgetting our order details repeatedly, despite her pen and pad. Maybe she has a handicap or maybe she just doesn't give a ...... She forgot about 50% of the order (the whole dessert part!) and even to come over to TAKE the order. I could write a very funny comedy skit of the conversation during the order, akin to Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First?" Anyway to the food.... My BLT was no good, the bacon was burnt to a carbon crisp, my wife's hotdog was luke warm and not very flavorful. The ice cream desserts were OK. Her Tin Roof was good, my chocolate shake was not as good as I remember at the fair, seemed to need more chocolate. The coffee was well below average in this day and age where Americans demand good tasting Joe, even at McDonald's. It is a family run business which is fine, but I saw no adults around, only teeny boppers running the place. They are probably cooking the food like amateurs as well. It is in an awkward locale in what looks like an old house. But as I've written in other Boise reviews, maybe it's not the fault of the restaurant itself, but Boise who is incapable of producing really great dining places. Conclusion: if you happen to be in the area on Ustick Rd, stop in for an ice cream treat, otherwise, pass it on by.....

One of the best places to eat Downtown! Huge selection of meals on their menu. Handspun milkshakes that are to die for. The apple pie shake actually has a hunk of real home made pie in it! WOW!

This is a step back in time, an old fashioned ice cream parlor with a nice selection of diner food.
Very authentic. Homemade ice cream; giant portions. Yum

Felt welcomed when entered. Offered mom and pop restaurant service. Food was expensive but worth every cent. Home town cooking and delicious ice cream to follow meal

Poor service. Forgot some of the meal and when reminded immediately forgot it again. They were out of the cookie that came with the meal so they offered me hard candy instead.
