Absolutely the best fried seafood in the area. Service is good and the old lady up front is very entertaining.

GOOD BUT THE OLD LADY UP FRONT IS REALLY MEAN AND TALKS ABOUT PEOPLE ALOT.

Gaston County is known for fish camps and I have eaten all of them. Dotson's has the best by far. Don't go expecting fancy china or broiled seafood. This is real, fried seafood (not called Dotson's fish fry for nothing). You eat on paper plates but the food is well worth it. Best large shrimp around.
The only down side to this restaurant is that all of the large tables are in the smoking section. Only four person booths in the non-smoking section. Most of the time you will see more non-smoking people in the smoking section than those smoking. Hopefully the owner will see this soon an correct the problem.
Expect a wait on Friday and Saturday nights.
