Daytona Beach Restaurant Guide

Great! We had to wait , but we had a large party,and there were many other large parties ahaid of us. We Had Great food, Great Service, and a Great Time!

The management of Down the Hatch are completely idiotic. The food is atrocious, and the service is extremely dreadful. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

If I could make that -0 star, I would. We were there, April 26,2008. We arrived around 5:15 pm. It was 7:00 before we ALL got our food. Our server was attitudnal, slow, unattentive.......just downright sorry. Our food came out a item here and there, which made us eating at differnt times. We sat with empty tea glasses and server not making any effort to get her act together.
Then when we were leaving, she made a smart alecky comment to us about the tip.........which was small compared to what it would have been with even decent service.
I would not go back there again.

I worked there the entire summer of 2006 and ate there almost daily. The atmosphere cannot be beat as it's located in a secluded subtropical area. The outside eating area faces west so the sunsets are fabulous! Management is very good, the waitstaff is excellent and extremely friendly. The entertainment is sometimes phenomenal as the local talent is superb. The food however, is only ok most of the time. Sometimes it's very good and sometimes it's not so good. The lack of consistency is why I only gave it 2 stars. If it doesn't meet your expectations send it back. The beer in the summer is often way not cold enough, ask them to ice it when you get there. Lots of children are always there and they have a great time. Eating inside is nice but the atmosphere outside cannot be beat anywhere in Florida. Go there for that and the pina coladas if for no other reason. :-)

Been going there for years. A little pricey but consistant. The live parrots outside are always fun for the kiddies.

This place is the Real Florida. Great seafood, great view and teh place we always go when were in town for the races.

I have been eating at Down the Hatch since I was a kid with my parents; about 18 years. It was always my favorite. The food is awesome; especially the fresh catch of the day!
