Not many places can beckon visitors like Tampa, Florida. Whether your business or leisure wish list includes theme parks, water recreation, cafes, nature exploration, sports, or just about anything else, Tampa has it. The city is part of the region called Tampa Bay, also consisting of St. Petersburg and Clearwater. If you're on a family vacation, you will not want to miss a visit to the area's world-class theme parks, including Busch Gardens Africa and the Florida Aquarium. Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is always a hit with families. A semi-tropical climate means plenty of outdoor activities. Enjoy a walk on the Bayshore Boulevard sidewalk, which stretches along Tampa Bay for 4 ½ miles. The 2.6-mile Friendship Trail Bridge offers a 12-mile long trail. Make sure you spend a day at one of the area's pristine beaches or at one of its top-notch golf courses. Speaking of water, there's plenty of that here, so take advantage of the many sporting activities that are popular in Tampa, including fishing, jet skiing, and parasailing. For those rebellious types, there's even an annual pirate festival in January, during which hundreds of rowdy swashbucklers invade the city as part of the Gasparilla Pirate Fest. All of this daytime activity can create quite an appetite, and Tampa can handle that need with its unique and diverse style. Along with the great produce you'll find at farmers markets and other sites, you'll want to enjoy the city's famous Cuban sandwich, made with Cuban bread, Cuban-style ham and pork, Emanthaler cheese, and other goodies.
