The best seafood in the state of Maryland. The imperial crab is to die for. All crabmeat, very little filler, the largest lumps of crab I've ever seen in a crap imperial dish and more than I could eat at one setting. Took the rest home, my 7 year old grandson devoured it. I'm taking my significant other there to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Would recommend the restaurant to EVERYONE!!!! Oh, and by the way, the price is phenomenal.

The cream of crab soup is the best I've ever had. The shrimp stuffed crabmeat was very good. G&M Seafood crab cakes are a tad better mainly due to size but the size of Edgewater's crab cakes are very large. I am definitely going again and again.

Best date place ever!! Excellent food. Excellent service. Great Ambience. A little on the expensive side but worth every dollar - especially if your date is into sports.

I have to agree with the other reviews. The Edgewater Restaurant basic crabcakes are fair to good; better than most. That being said, their premium lump crabcakes are the GOLD STANDARD. We are from the Deep South and have been stopping at the Edgewater Restaurant since 2005. I really should try some of their other food but I just never get past the giant lump crabcakes.

THE BEST CRAB CAKES IN THE WORLD. I HAVE GONE TO MANY PLACES THAT CLAIM "TO HAVE THE BEST CRAB CAKES EVERY", DON'T BELIEVE THEM EDGEWATER IS THE BEST. IT GIVES YOU THE APPEARANCE OF EATING DINNER AT HOME WITH THE FAMILY. BUT MOMMA NEVER FIXED CRAB CAKES LIKE THIS. AND CAN YOU BELIEVE "IT AFFORDABLE" YOU CAN TAKE THE KIDDIES. I NEED TO STOP WRITING NOW, I'M AT WORK AND ITS MAKING ME WANT TO TAKE OFF TO GET ME A CRAB CAKE. YOU MUST TRY THEM.

This is just absolutely the best place in the world for crabcakes. I hear great things about the shrimp, oysters, etc. but I can't seem to maked myself order anything but the "to die for crabcakes". The wait can sometimes be a little long but knowing what's coming makes it worth it. You will not be sorry. The servers are marvelous---friendly and ready to please.

Best seafood in the Annapolis area. Beats anything downtown. Any time we are in Annapolis area, we eat there. Best crabcakes since my mother's. I raised in Annapolis many moons ago.

Love the food, the crabcake is the best. The only down fall is it's not wheelchair accessible. If it was I would go more often, and others would too.

I'm a true MD girl, and I love to find places with great seafood. Edgewater restaurant has by far the BEST jumbo lump crabcakes ever. My fiance and I ate there last week, and the waitress was exceptional..extremely friendly and catered to our every need. I read only one review with a "1 star" review, and was shocked. Don't pass this place up! Read the other reviews...majority rules!

I have never seen lumps of crab even HALF as big as the ones in their Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. And the Cream of Crab Soup .... so rich you could order it for desert.

I didn't believe the previous reviews; thought they might be overstated or blown out of proportion. I had to experience it for myself to actually understand it and believe it.

The best jumbo lump crabcakes I have ever had!!!!!

Start with a libation(or something soft) and a BOWL not a cup of cream of crab soup. It's to die for.
Get either the jumbo lump crab cakes or the lobster tails stuffed w/jumbo lump. It is the size of a small football.

Before your excursion to Edgewater, make a reservation at one of the local motel/hotels. After your meal, check in and take a nap. You will need it.

I'll be back and so will you.

No secret that their crabcakes are the best EVER, but some might not realize that they know how to cook an oyster to perfection. I was born and raised in Maryland and have had seafood all over, but have never had a better crabcake or oyster.

This is absolutely my favorite place anywhere to go for jumbo lump crabcakes. I dare anyone to try and finish two of them at one seating! I always order two so that I can enjoy the second one for lunch the next day! My husband and I have never had a bad meal, no matter what we order. It can be a long wait at times, but worth every second. My only objection is the smoking section, which is right as you walk in the door. It can be very unpleasant, especially if there are children in your party. If it's not too cold, waiting outside is a better option. It's still a great place to eat!!!

We were made to feel most unwelcome, the host looked at us, didn't recognize us as a local and it went down from there. the waitress leaned across a wall to take our order. Debated my dining choice. If you are new to the area, don't bother, there are many other choices that are cleaner and more receptive to their customers. THe food might have been good but was spoiled by the treatment

Excellent Food.....I love the fried shrimp. Not the frozen type you find in other restaurants. All their fried seafood is very lightly breaded, which is an awesome change from heavy breading that so many restaurants use.

This is a local restaurant that is always crowded. I go specifically for the broiled jumbo crabcakes which are a delight. One will wonder what they used to hold these softball sized cakes together. The regular crabcakes are great too, but spend the extra bucks and go for the broiled jumbos, you won't be sorry.
