A Mexican food tradition since 1940 has grown into more than 75 restaurants, including more than 25 franchise locations. The El Chico story began when Adelaida Cuellar's homemade tamales drew huge crowds at a small county fair in 1926. Her sons opened a cafe in Dallas, following their mother's recipes for enchiladas with chile con carne sauce. Today, El Chico is still serving top-quality Mexican food favorites with fresh new specialties of today.

I have eaten at this restuarant several times, and every experience has been GREAT! I love the authentic mexican dishes, and the service is wonderul. The servers are pleasant and friendly and are always smiling. This is a good place for a date night or family dinner out.

El Chico is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. I have been eating here since the doors open. It's a friendly place for the family to sit down and eat.
If you don't try this Mexican restaurant, you are missing out. It's the best Mexican restaurant in town and I've been to all of them. The owner is from Mexico... Margaritas are wonderful!
