I stopped at this establishment because on previously visit (I usually dine in) because the food is good but on Sunday, March 9, 2008 @ 5:15 p.m. I had an experience of a life time. First, the establishment has a sign that says that you must spend a minimum of $7.00 on your credit cards. I pointed out to the young lady (who was sporting a black eye) that she cannot charge a minimum and that I would like to speak with her manager; she stated rather rudely, that not my problem and the manager is not in. I proceeded to tell the young lady that she should watch how she speaks with people and that probably how she got the black eye in the first place. Her younger sister who was not working nor was she ordering food proceeds to step in my face and ask me why am I talking to her sister like. I informed the young lady that I was not a kid nor a teenager and she had better get out my face. Well, I guess one of the patrons, who jumped into the conversation said for me to get out of their establishment and go back to the south side. I than informed him he had nothing to do with the conversation as the young girl and that I was not talking to him and he should mind his business. As other ethnic groups started to come into the restuarant he cooled his heels and tried to make it look like I was causing problems.
Long story short -- its a rip off and fill with thugs along with a little gang banger to mix in together. And the manager was no where to be found -- not even an assistant. Calumet City police had to get involved...
This place used to be good....many years ago. Bad service, and never getting your order correct is the theme of the restaurant now. I understand a mistake now and then, but come on ladies...every single time. I will be using a little more gas and go
...
I ordered for pick up. There were no sauce in a bag, and the hostess was going to charge me extra for it. Very unfriendly! And I was going to this place a lot!!
Baba's located at Burnham and State Road has the best food. It is fresh and properly cooked. The people who work there are friendly and fast with your order. The choices of food seems endless. I easily recommend this location for great food.
