I was waiting months for a great oyster bar like Vinnies in southend to show up in lake wylie once I saw the sign. Unfortunately this is no Vinnies BY FAR. We showed up at around 5:30, sat ourselves and the waitress was great. we ordered the fried pickes for about 7 bucks and we got maybe 20 little fried pickles...didn't even fill up the bottom half of the basket....but they were good. Next about 45 min later they lost our order somehow. no problem, the owner (i think) gave us a couple beers on the house. We finally get our food and the fries were cold and disgusting....had to cover them with ketchup to cover the taste and the seasoning tasted like Mrs. Dash. The Grouper sandwich was even worse, the fish was only the size of about my 2 fingers put together, and also disgusting and under cooked. The waitress was too embarassed to ask me how the food was because I would have said something. The owner never came back to apologize or see how everything was. The inside of the place looked awful too. What a waste of a restaurant. If you want a good place to go, go to Tilted Kilt down the road in charlotte on carowinds blvd and 49. Or wait til Gators opens down the road, i'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Poorly done fat cats, you made Tbones look like a 5 star restaurant.

When it first opened it was a fairly decent place but has gone downhill in the past couple years. I ordered fried scallops and got some kind of squashed up fish made to look like a scallop with a really bad tasting bread coating. When I told the wait ...

Ive eaten here a number of times. The food is not consistant. Had killer fried shimp one visit and overbread- undercooked the next time. It much more like a burger joint than a seafood place. Their menu is common with mean nothing names. Cocktails a ...

My daughter originally told me about the Fat Cats special of a really generous bucket of raw oysters and I went in there to shuck a really large bucket full- at final count the bucket contained 49 medium quality (multiple shells) oysters which never-the-less were great. They did not offer sauces to go with it other than drawn butter or cocktail sawce and there was not hot sauce evident on the table. The somewhat biker type bar/oyster house has the ambience of a hells angels meeting room but the people and staff are very friendly and quick to refiill your drink. We returned a couple weeks later to get their blackened Mahi Mahi only to learn they were out of . They also were out of a two pound flounder (baked) so I ended up getting the remaining item on the fish menu which was blackened tuna steak. It definitely was blackened with some type of awful spice that could gag a maggot and it was well undercooked. My daughter got butterfly shrimp and they served five medium shrimp which was hardly enough to fill a persons cavity. In general stick to the oysters and forget the other so called seafood it is expensive and cooked by novices.
