gotta admit the best restaurant I've worked for..hehehe hi to all my beloved customers..

I never had problems formosa so far this is the best chinese food I have ever. Tasted its better than monks or manderine house. Formosa gives you your money worth. I like the people and the atmospere. Now they have a nephew who always stop and enterupt by haveng a conversation and not doing work. But other than that. The hot and sour soup is outstanding its the best in town. All these otther chinese resturants is a eases of time there food isn't fresh formosa makes it fresh and proof if you haven't had formosa. You are missing out.

I have eaten here at least 50 times in the past 3 years. It is the best chinese food in Birmingham.

Had the sesame chicken, got sick the next day throwing up all the time... stomach in knots... haven't been able to keep anything down. First time ever having food poisoning like this. 2 days later and still cant keep anything down. Never had problems before so not sure why this happened. Won't eat there again.

I have been eating at Formosa since I was a kid. I LOVE their Egg Drop soup. It is PERFECT. I have tried many other Chinese restaurants in Birmingham and surrounding areas but this is BY FAR the BEST!! The owner is such a nice guy, and the service is GREAT!! My drink never got below my "half way" mark I use to decide how much to tip the waiter :) And the food was served hot, and tastes wonderful!!

I have been eating at this restaurant since 1993 and I have never been disappointed. The best chinese food in Birmingham. The owners are amazing and the serves is consistently good.

Best Chinese food and service in Birmingham. I have lived in London, New Orleans, and New York and I feel confident that Formosa is one of the best I have dined at. The Mongolian Beef is their best dish IMO.

I have been dining at Formosa since I was a kid, my mother went there when she was pregnant with me even. Formosa used to have a small quaint place in the Five Points which they closed and moved to Hoover. The new location is nice and clean, the decoration is wonderful and the food is hands down the absolute best Chinese dining ever. I recently moved away from Alabama, and I can tell you that I have yet to find another restaurant that could match both Quality of Food or Service. Formosa has it all :)

The food was good. The service from the servers was good. The owner, who sat us and checked us out, was extremely rude. If you want to eat there, you will see just why I say that.

Chef's Specialty "Cocoanut Butter Shrimp" is outstanding! Have enjoyed this restaurant for many, many years, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

We have tried all chinese restaurants in the birmingham area, my wife and I have settled with this restaurant. The food is great, people are friendly, and the price is right.

When I was first introduced to Chinese foods in America this is the place my parents took us. They were located in the Five Points West area and they were great then. Well I didn't know Formosa still existed in Birmingham but to my surprise here they are. Formosa is by far the best chinese food in this area I've have since I've been eating it. The service is fantastic and always pleasant for me and my wife,who I had the opportunity to introduce to Formosa, and we are both in agreement that this place serves excellent food and provides excellent service. I totally recommend them, they are great!

This restaurant has excellent food. The soups are not as good as other restaurants, where I have dined. The service is excellent.
