we dined two nights in this restaurant. I don't belive this "chef" had trained culinary skills. All plates were either way way too salty, or way too much of this or that on the seasoning- telling of an unskilled "chef". Also, front street sign mispelled dining as "dinning" and there was a terrible oder on entering. Owners then had discussion with adjacent table discussing how bad business was in these hard times (our ombiance experience...). Decor and furnishings were very outdated albeit appreciated table linen and flowers.

Incredibly delicious menu and solid service. Everything tastes freshly made to order, even the yummy little mini-muffins. Deserts, especially the home-made tiramisu are out of this world. Chef Lisa was very accomodating, taking into account our party's diverse dietary preferences/requirements and went out of her way to suggest options not on the menu for our dinner. Wonderful wine list with knowledgeable help when asked for pairings. All in all, very very happy and will continue to make this jewel a destination anytime we are in the area.

My girlfreind and I really enjoyed our experience. We enjoyed the hospitality of a small town resturaunt with big city tastes. It is truely a chef driven menu that does a great job with incredible ingredients. Owners are very friendly and it has a great bar for late night snacks and drinks. One of the only places in town that is open on sundays.

We ate at the Frog and Owl for Mother's day. Four of us were there and all of us were very disappointed. The salmon was good, but a very small portion, especially for the price. The beef was very dry, mashed potatoes were cold. The pasta-chicken dish was weird! It had strange tasing chicken. They served no rolls until we asked. The ceaser salad was fishy tasting. We told the waitress and she told us she told the chef, but the chef never came out to talk to us at all. It was very expensive and VERY disappointing. We will never go back.

I have always enjoyed the food at the Frog and Owl. This past week I asked to meet chef Lisa. She came aroung 6 PM and spent time with a local couple. The waiter said that he would ask her but she did not come back out to speak to us. From that point the service was bad. The waiter did not want to talk to us. It was such a obvious snub that I will not go back no matter how much I like the poached pear salad!
