Was hestitant when we heard Gen Kai was under new ownership, however, to our surprise the fish quality has improved greatly and the chefs make amazing rolls and dishes. We were happy when we found out that our server was one of the new owners. It was great to see the owner helping her staff so much and was there listening to what the customers had to say and making sure they received excellent customer service. We now go there about once every 2 weeks. It just keeps getting better! The owners are doing a great job and Ashley who is always there gives us a warm welcome everytime. Some of the best sushi in Chico!

Its getting better, it was great before it was sold. AFter the new owner, the gal seemed to not understand what owning a restaurant meant, the service stank, she just hung out at the bar and watched unhappy, unhelped customers. It seems to be getting better now though, the service is better since they hired new people.
