There are many great restaurants in New Haven. Save your money and don't dine here!!! Appetizer was given to another table. With out so much as an apology or any kind of reperation. Let me make mention of the above reviewer, since I was in the restaurant when she made an absurd commotion over an accidental spilling. While all efforts were kindly made to appease the customer, inluding the owner offering to not only foot the bill for the cleaning of the purse, or even to replace it, this reviewer stormed off to the bathroom like a child, and even broke the lock!!!! She was very defiant and rude, even though the owner was patiently trying to explain that accidents do happen. It is too bad that she allowed her immaturity of a situation to ruin her experience at one of New Haven's best Italian restaurants which has clearly outlasted many others for 25 years.

Sat night at about 7ish the piano starts and people start to sing."Geppi's" it is the best kept secret in New Haven.Prices are fair food is very flavorful with a different specials every time we go.We love that it is out of the way and never crowded like downtown. We have brought many friends and they are now all regulars. The Owner Giancarlo has always been very friendly and has bought us after dinner drinks on many occasions.

Although I was warned against this place by neighbors who had tried Geppi's, I unfortunately did not listen. So please do listen to me. Avoid this place like the plague. It is overpriced and the food is simply not up to par with the rest of the great Italian restaurants of New Haven. The waiter was annoyingly cocky, considering his basic level of competence and was very intrusive; the final straw was when he spilled salad dressing all over a very nice leather purse. In fact, there were no other people in the place when we were there, which is really not surprising considering the level of mediocrity which this place symbolizes. Please save your money, folks, for restaurants in New Have that are really worth it.
