I am writing this review because I have just written a negative review on an Indian restaurant here in upstate New York. Desperately homesick and craving Indian food, I have scoured this place to satisfy, "my habit." Let me say, that NOTHING can compare to Gourmet India in Houston. I have eaten at Gourmet India since they opened almost 10 years ago and it is high quality, fresh, authentic northern Indian food. The waiters are always welcoming and professional and the interior atmosphere is enchanting. Every dish is cooked beautifully and tastes exactly the way good Indian food should. Let me add that the closest I have been to India was when I went to Singapore and ate amazing northern (and southern) Indian food in an area called "Little India." Upon my return to Houston, I had intense curry and nan cravings so, I planned a lunch at Gourmet India. Well, "the good stuff" was still fresh on my taste buds but, Gourmet India matched it bite for bite...and then some. Perfection!!!! I love how they bring out warm, fresh nan throughout the entire meal. It reminds me of a Mexican restraunt refilling the chips every 5 minutes...Oh My Gosh, don't get me started on the Mexican food up here! Anyway, Gourmet India is on my "to do" list for my next trip home to Houston.

Before I ate at Gourmet India, I thought I didn't like Indian food. After eating there with a friend for convenience, I quickly changed my mind. Gourmet India is my favorite restaurant and found the staff to be high class; the waiters remembered me! I think this place is the best for quality Indian food at an affordable price!
