Henderson Restaurant Guide

I was at the Halfshell for a Dinner party during Christmas this past year. The table was ready when we arrived and our drinks were delivered within 10 minutes of being seated. The salad was very fresh, love the loaf of bread which is served with dinner and my shrimp was great and didn't smell fishy and I'm fussy being from San Diego, I like fresh! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I always enjoy the upstairs patio.

As the other reviewer stated there was no one their to greet us (lunch time) for a few mins. I ordered the crab cakes which were good,but a friend ordered the tuna (sushi) roll and indicated that the rice tasted old! Another friend ordered the fish sandwich and fries and mentioned that the fish was greasy to which the waiter stated "well yeah, it was fried". The waiter did remove the cost of the tuna from the bill.

I attended weekly luncheons at The Half-Shell in their upstairs meeting room. I always ordered the grilled salmon which was ALWAYS exceptional. The server was always friendly and helpful. The meeting room is quite large and fully equipped with audio-visual so we could easily give presentations. I've dined there approx. 20 times, and have been pleased.

Watch your receipt, they have overcharged my friend before when she went there, then when I went their with friends they overcharged us. They gave us a bill that was double what we should have had, and they didn't even list what we ordered on the receipt, it got cleared up but they were very shady about it. The atmosphere is decent though, that is about it. I would not recomend this place to anybody.

Can you call it bad service if no one talks to you?

Walking into Half Shell Seafood and Gaming, the first thing you notice is the intoxicating aroma coming from the kitchen. The bar and dining areas are tasteful and festive and are separated, allowing smokers to smoke and non-smokers to enjoy their meal. Unfortunately I have nothing to say about their food since I never got to taste it. There was no one at the welcome station to seat my friend and me so after 10 minutes or so of seeing servers and bus boys ignoring us we thought that maybe we should seat ourselves. After sitting at a table for over 20 minutes and watching servers pass us by without so much as a word or second glance we grabbed out menus and left them at the front with the now-present gabby host and bus boy.
This was by far my worst restaurant experience ever!
