The Metropolis named after Schraemli (Schremly) family hotels in Switzerland, which have been in operation since the turn of the 20th century. Our Harry's Bar was established in 2001 in memory of Uncle Harry Schraemli (1903-1995). International author, Harry's books, "Grand Bar Study" and "Mastermixer" are used in the finest bars worldwide as references. Founder of the Swiss Gastronomic Museum, Uncle Harry was a corresponding member of the German Gastronomic Academy, the Culinary Gastronomic College in Basel, the Circle of Chefs of Bern, and the Swiss Guild of Established Chefs. A Knight of Honor of the Cordon Bleude Saint Esprit Order, he was also an honorary member of the Gastronomic Study Club in Zurich and member of the Hotel Owner Association in Switzerland.
We offer our patrons fine dining and a charming atmosphere in a renovated Federalist Style Bluegrass Trust building, a landmark for over 175 years, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
May you find the Metropol a pleasurable escape from the ordinary.
