Great food, You will get what you pay for, menu is in line with quality and enjoyment. Ambience is average. Patio over the water is awesome but only available during the summer. Boogie nights is upstairs and is great for Friday and Saturday nights.
Would recommend to my friends.

My husband and I went to Hennessy's Steak and Seafood for Valentine's Day. We had to wait for our table even with a reservation. We just had a drink and Chef personally apologized for the wait. The food was EXCELLENT and well worth the wait! I had the Lobster and Hennessy Medallions! The meal was the best that I have had in a very long time. My husband raved about his porterhouse. There were many things on the menu to choose from besides steak and seafood. I'd have to say though that this is an excellent steakhouse! Not to mention if there is a wait on Valentine's Day, that can ONLY mean it's good food! Also, I found out that above Hennessy's Steakhouse is Boogie Nights! I am so excited to have one close to my house! I remember going there in Schaumburg after work. This is definately goin to be my new hang out!
The food is GREAT at a great price! The owner and head chef came to see how things were And we were warmly welcomed and loved the people and food. Is a great hangout or a place for a party very happy with my experience at Hoopers!!!! We are for sure

I have just reviewed the below comments and find it hard to believe, I am sure this comment is somewhat accurate as Valentines day can be a nightmare for many restaurants (which is why I always do the V day at home), All I can say is I have been to Hennessy's at least a dozen times and have found the food, service and availability top notch, in fact the food is some of the best in the country (I have been a business traveler for 20 plus years). This restaurant features dishes from Chef Hennessy who is a master chef (I was told that they are less than 20 Master Chef's in the Country and I did indeed get this info by the staff, considering the food I believe it). Either way I am sure the comment holds some merit but crying waitresses and the other comments seem far fetched, why do people have to talk trash like this, could this even be another competing restaurant? It is a shame that many people only make negative comments and few positive, I guess the saying is true, if you have a good time you tell one or two people, have a bad experience and you tell everyone you know. I to am guilty of not taking the time to praise a good meal but when I came across this comment I had to comment too.

Worst dining experience of my life. 1 1/2 hour wait to be seated with reservations. 1 1/2 hour wait for food after ordering. The manager claims that it's my fault I'm having a bad time because Valentine's Day only happens once a year, I shouldn't have expected good service. The waitress ended up in tears because every guest in her section was asking for a manager. Some of them had verbal arguments with managers and walked out. I personally refused to pay for the cold, unedible food we were served and went home and had Easy Mac and cheese for dinner. Heck of a Valentine's Day dinner. Did I mention that this was advertised as a romatic Valentine's Day experience complete with roses for the ladies and Champagne toasts. Fine dining experience with world class service. I highly recommend that you never put yourself through the hell of Hennessy's.
