Chandler Restaurant Guide

Honestly, I went to this restaurant many times before I read some of the previous reviews on this site. Despite these mediocre and untrue reviews, I will continue to eat at this restaurant for the sole reason that those bad reviews are nothing but lies. Reading these reviews almost makes me wonder whether they have the restaurant they are bad mouthing confused with this one.

Their service was more than fine- I can speak to all the chefs and servers without any trouble and they made an obvious and apparent effort to clean off all dirty dishes from the table.

And their food is one of the best sushi I have ever experienced. As a huge sushi efficianado, I have never gone back to the same place for sushi as much as this place. Their food has always been fresh, and on time.

I don't understand how a place that was more than just satisfactory to me can be so horrible for someone else - not to mention all the claims by one of the reviewers seem rather untrue.

And by the way, if this restaurant fails to pay their workers, then how come there are plenty of them that stayed there through the last three or so years that I've been there?

Food is incredibly good. I have never had any problems having my order done right the first time around.
The problem is, that service is not that great..
But the food is wonderful and both sushi chefs are very nice and accomodating.

We go here about twice a month. I'll admit there are times we have to explain our order a few times..........Sally Albright meets fresh off the boat immigrants..........sushi is as fresh as any other place we've had in AZ. It's not still flopping around when it comes to the table, but rarely has that "few days old" smell. Overall food and service are better and friendlier than big corporate franchises offering the same stuff.

This was the worst local sushi experience we've had. The atmosphere is sub-Denny's. The sushi and sashimi looks and tastes like last weeks catch. Mediocre would be a compliment for the spicy salmon roll we had. The portions are about half the size of other nearby sushi restaurants. And we haven't even gotten to the worst part yet... The service was unbelievably bad. The servers and management all acted like they were in some bizarre frantic stupor even though the place was half empty. Communicating with them was like trying to get thru to tweakers from another planet. No, there was no language barrier here, just a reality barrier. We had to explain our order several times even though it was the standard stuff off the sushi menu. It took forever for our disappointing order to appear. What should have been plenty to eat just left us still hungry. So we ordered some more sushi. Now get this... The server came with our new order dish and placed it right on top of the dirty dish from our original order. Yes, really! The bill and payment experience was terrible and downright frightening as well. In case you haven't gotten the picture yet... Honmachi Grill is NOT recommended.
