Wow, I think I've just found my favorite hot dog joint. One of my friends recommended it when I was in town and described how Alton Brown considers it a must visit place whenever he is in town. Well that sold me and I headed over here for lunch. It was about 1:30pm and the place was still steadily busy... a good sign. I looked over the many good choices they had and finally had to decide on the Cosmic Dog. Wow, It was one of the best slaw dogs I've ever had! I think this is one of the last diners that still serve up draft sodas on a frosted cold glass mug. Hey it may be all in my head but it sure seem to go down smoother than those cans. The shoestring fries were also very good. I was super happy to see that they had malt shakes. I couldn't resist and ordered the strawberry malt. I must say that's the way shakes they were in the old days and should always be! If you have not tried Jack's Cosmic Dogs, you are indeed missing out!
