I was shocked to find this restaurant still open as many friends had told me it was closed, however I will review what I remember. Years ago (in the 1970's) this was my family's favorite place to go on 'special outings' to eat. Also a favorite place to go with a date. The pressed duck, which unhappily they no longer serve, is THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN. And I mean NUMBER ONE on my top ten list of things to eat. The taste and texture are unlike anything I've ever had before or since and the sauce (kind of 'plummy') is to die for. Outstanding house fried rice, wonton or egg drop soup, and their pu-pu platter (for two) is an excellent way to start your meal. Adored the drinks in the keepable glasses as well. Loved, loved, loved this place. Next time I am back in Mesa I am hot-footing it right over there and dragging along everyone I know.
Foods fresh if u get there there@noon. They just reheat the food after that. Can be greedy on carryout and if u hav to use the restroom go before u get there unless your on a diet and rather ruin ur appetite. Coockroaches seem to be an issue here..ju
