We have been going to the Tx Renfest for years and just discovered this great german restaurant in March of 09. The food and beer selection was very good. The sevice was knowledgeable and fast. Plus the atmosphere was quaint and german. Also there is a smoking section. James Faulkner Sr.

We always make sure we stop here for at least one meal each time we are in the area. We are often here at least once a month. The people and the food have always been outstanding.

This is, by far, the best German restaurant within 500 miles. I feel humbled and literally unworthy to know about this place. The chef served the Grand Duke of Luxembourg for Pete's sake. Going to a chain restaurant is an insult when you know this is available. Two German red ales and the black bread stuff you. When the appetizer and entree arrive, they're just for taking home. The owners are real people, salty, and gracious. Great music and ambience. The selection of kegged German beer is whopping. Make sure to have someone designated to drive, because this stuff ain't Budweiser. One large, heavy mug of this genuine German ale will slap your face even if you drink regularly. The loaves of black bread alone I wanted to stuff in my pockets like a street urchin for later. The rouladen, wursts and schnitzels were all impeccable. I felt as if I'd stolen something on the way back to the car. Even though I work hard, I don't deserve to eat this well.

This is houstons best kept secret for authentic, really authentic german food. Been there four times, drove all the way from galveston just to visit kaiserhof in the last 6 month and the food, service and ambience is 'WUNDERBAR',every time. Restaurants of this caliber are even in germany very hard to find. I hope people on lake conroe know what gem is hidden there. Just wish they where in houston.
