I drove through Long John Silvers for my father who was in the hospital. He could have nothing to eat after midnight for surgery and wanted a LJS meal. I wanted to get him something nicer but after he retired he became very active in the church and told me some of his fondest memories were of eating at LJS (in our home town not Amarillo)with the other deacons after visitations. His condition was very serious and I wanted to make possibley his last days of earth as enjoyable as possible. I bought him a almost 10 dollar combo plate and when I came back to the hospital I could only describe it food as destroyed. The Cole Slaw was all over everything put into the box with out a lid-explained that "we're out of them". Amazingly the meat which I could not identify what type it was due to severe over cooking were coupled with fries that were almost still frozen. All of it had an overwhelming foul smell. Very upsetting to my father. I called LJS to ask them to re-do our order and was put on hold for 15 min, someone picked up the phone said we close in 40 minutes and hung up. I arrived 15 to 20 minutes before the posted closing time and the doors were locked. I knocked loudly and tried to explain that I had called to exchange an order but everytime I began to talk the LJS employee just over yelled me "we're closed" over and over. I tried to call for my cell phone but was hung up on over and over. By this time all of the restraunt around the hospital were also closed and my father was only served hospital jello for he's pre surgery meal.

I will never eat at this place again. It was so dirty that I wished I was a health department inspector to shut it down. All the tables were dirty and the staff refused to clean them "until we have time". I only went inside because my order was wrong in the drive-thru including the drinks. When someone got around to ending their text message 5 mins later, it was explained to me that I should have checked the order before I left the drive thru. I was charged for a large order and recived a much smaller order and it was suggested that I was trying to steal by leaving to drive thru. After a protracted arguement with the staff, the cook agreed to cook my order but threatened myself and my children by saying "Oh i'll cook it, I'll cook you something special after being refused a refund I left and was called a "b****" by the teenager at the counter. Calls to Long John Silvers office have not been returned.

I SATYED ACROSS THE STREET AT A HOLIDAY INN AND DINED 2 CONSECUTIVE NIGHTS JUST TO SEE IF THEY COULD REPRODUCE THE AWFUL, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 2 NIGHTS IN A ROW. THEY DIDN'T DISSAPOINT. THE SECOND NIGHT THE DRIVE THRU SPEAKER WAS BROKEN AND THE FLIES WERE SWARMING MY CAR. THE CREW WERE NOT JUST INEXPERIENCED BUT LITERALLY CLUELESS AS TO WHAT THEY WERE DOING. I SAT IN THE DRIVE THRU FOR 15+ MINUTES ONLY TO HAVE THEM FORGET FLATWARE, CONDIMENTS, NAPKINS & PLATES. I ASKED FOR THE CONTACT INFO FOR THE FRANCHISEE OWNER AND WAS COMPLETELY LIED TO & GIVEN AN 800 NUMBER FOR A SWEEPSTAKES. I WILL NEVER EAT AT THIS OR ANY OTHER LJS/A&W FRANCHISE. BE FOREWARNED.

I went to LJS with my family on a weeknight and usually I like them better than most fast food. We went to the shop on Ross St. When we walked in there was no one at the counter, we waited 5 min for someone to take our order. When we went to sit down the side dining room was closed because every table in it had trays all over them, paper cups on them and the floor was a mess. When we went to get drinks, the soda nozzles looked like they had not been cleaned in a month! the counter when you get condiments was littered with trash and smeared with ketchup, etc. It was filthy! We sat down in the main dining room and it was a mess! Napkins everywhere, crumbs on the seats and tables, salt everywhere, disgusting. I looked to see if there was anyone who could clean a table off and looked to the back of the kitchen and there were 3 teenage boys standing in uniform drinking sodas and visiting ..no help here. When they called our number for the food, we got it to the table got settled in and the first bite about gagged! it was NOT COOKED and the batter was uncooked and runny!! This was not just one piece, it was ALL the chicken and fish that my family was about to eat!! one side even LOOKED pale and uncooked. After fuming at the counter for 5 minutes - a teenage "manager" came out and offered to re cook the pieces from our plates...not redo the entire order..nothing..if it had not been late and the kids needing to eat I would have left. But he re cooked thenm and when they came out - he FORGOT to re-cook 4 pieces! I was furious and he had the nerve to act like I was bothering HIM!! This was $40 worth of food and seeing as how I work for a living, I was rather mad. He did not offer to comp our meal, future meal, money back - NOTHING!! It was not like I was whining about not really caring for the food- THIS WAS RAW FOOD THAT COULD CAUSE POISONING!! and the manager saw it..
Every since this place went in with A&W it has been horrible! I hope that no one gets hurt by the lazy help in this hole of a restraunt. I also hope they go under just for their customer service alone!!

My wife and I went by Long John Silvers tonight on our way home from work at around 6:15pm. We placed our order inside for a large family pack to go. Thirty minutes later, I asked for a refund and we left.

There were 5 employees working and I don't think any of them really knew what they were doing. They weren't very busy and it was taking far too long for anyone to be served.

A few other customers left without even placing an order because there wasn't anyone at the front counter.
