The Maine Fish Market Restaurant building, dating back to 1780s, is one of the oldest commercial structures in the state. The Vamvilis family opened a Fish Market in 1980 that featured a retail market, take out fish & chips, and other seafood entrees. Nick and John Vamvilis have run the restaurant in the current location since 1986. All food at the Fish Market Restaurant is prepared fresh when ordered: there is no prebreading, precooking, or frozen microwaving. It may take a littlie longer to get your order to the table, but the wait will be worth it. The menu offers an extensive selection of items, including appetizers, sandwiches, and dinner specials. Notable selections include Stuffed Swordfish, Boiled Lobster Dinner, and Fried Shrimp.
