We are done with this place! The last time the spring rolls were rancid. This time the food was just plain bad and the atmosphere was hot and overwhelming with sesame oil and incense. We asked for crispy noodles and were told it would be $1.75. Same thing for fried wontons. One large bowl of hot/sour soup and one tired looking, stomach-churning mandarine orange salad, with an order of fried wontons - about $25. Priceless!

I have eaten at a lot of Chinese Restaurants, I have to tell you this one by far is the absolute Best I have ever had, My husband and I moved her 1 year ago to Ventura and just by chance we found this place and figured to stop in just because, well one year later its the only Chinese Restaurant i will go to, I am celebrating my Birthday and not only did this people make us a part of their family they have gone out of their way to take us out and show us China Town in Los Angeles, they remembered my birthday and are throughing me a party then after the restaurant closed they are taking us out. The food is so good i wish i could have it everynight, and the drinks are so very reasonable and so is the food, the prices are fantastic, i just can't say enough about the FOOD, the SERVICE the SPECIALITY DRINKS and above the PEOPLE if there were a higher star then 5 I would use it. Please if you want great food, great service and just a fun time, you have to come here, it is by far the BEST I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!
Unfortunately my husband and I tried this place for the first time a week ago for take out and it was horrible!! We love orange chicken but what we go was something that kind of looked like orange chicken but instead of the normal orange red sauce i

Gourmet Oriental is by far my favorite Fast Food for Kun Pao Chicken or War Won ton Soup. Pauline remembers everything I have ever ordered and those who have not been there in years. She has a remarkable memory and always asks about my sons. I lov

Ventura has no topper to "Pauline's" Gourmet Oriental. Always fresh, never any MSG, and tastes that brings our family back for more. My daughter, the world's most finicky eater, consistently requests her favorite - Tangerine Chicken.

One of the few Chinese restaurants we will dine at. The other being the Peking Inn in Camarillo. This restaurant is the closest to the restaurants we ate at in the San Gabriel valley when we lived in the LA area. Asians eat here which is my sign of good Chinese food.
