For "extraordinary" Med-inspired Southwestern cooking that "you can't get anywhere else" (think "awesome veal cheeks", rabbit baklava, prickly pear tiramisu), head straight to "innovative" chef-owner Konstantin M. "small", "cute" bistro in Downtown Scottsdale, where his "bold" food is "deliciously" "off the wall"; it's "not for the unadventurous", but that's fine by the gourmands who "return" often for an "exciting, new; experience." We booked a large b-day party because they said they could accommodate us. We arrived, they only had 3 people on staff for a party of 50. Service was slow, I didn't even bother to order any food. Next week I check my bank account and I'm overcharged $100 to my Visa(also incurred a overdraft fee). Called and spoke with the owner who tried to blame it on me as a tip and finally refunded the overage but would do nothing to help with the overdraft fee. Completely unacceptable. Would never go back or recommend this place to a friend or family member. Shady business owner.

Medizona is a find for visitors, near Old Town and close to Fashion Square, it offers an interesting concept, a fusion restaurant combining Mediterranean and Southwest ingredients and cooking techniques. The menu is quite varied with unusual choices (ever had rabbit baklava?)but there are some standbys for the less adventureous in your group. The wine list is better than expected with some nice matches to your entrees. The decor is still a work in progress. Our entrees were prepared to our requests and the service was prompt and attentive. We had a memorable evening.
Mediterranean, Casual/Family, Banquet/Party Room, Bar
Great mexican food with a non-traditional flare. The margarittas are wonderful and quits strong so be careful not to drink to many. The service is also great and the home made cornbread, the best!
