MEAN EMPLOYEES AT MELLOW MUSHROOM

I’m a pretty mellow guy. When I go out to eat, I tend to shy away from confrontations with the restaurant staff, and always give a lot of leeway evaluating service. I accept the fact that people are human, and have bad days, like all of us. So I guess you can figure out the impression that Mellow Mushroom made on me for me to take the time to sit down and compose this review. My Fiancé and me visited Mellow Mushroom on the second Friday of July because we drive by all the time, and we figured that the fact that it is always packed was a vote of confidence from the public. We arrived, ordered our pizza and paid for it at the counter, got our beverages and sat down outside in their roadside deck. We knew it would not be fast food, we did not know that we would sit there for an hour, waiting, watching people that arrived after us get their pizza. This is a feeling roughly comparable to seeing people cut in line in front of you at an amusement park. Finally, our pizza came, delivered to our table by one of the employees. The only problem was, we ordered a pizza with 4 toppings, and this was a plain cheese pizza. The fact that we had already paid for 4 toppings did not stop him from rudely asking us why we didn’t just take the cheese pizza. Finally, he reluctantly offered to put the toppings on the fully cooked cheese pizza and throw it back in the oven for a bit. Even more reluctantly, we agreed. What really happened was, the employee went back to the kitchen and stir-fried the ingredients and tossed them on top of the cheese pizza. This was the straw the broke the camel’s back, so we decided to get out money back. When we informed said employee that we did not want his pizza, he angrily screamed inside the restaurant, "after you made me go through all that work, you don’t want it!!!” as he stormed back into the kitchen announcing he had an extra pizza for employee consumption. The employee at the cash register did not say a word, did not even look me in the eye, and gave me our money back. This was my first and last visit to Mellow Mushroom.

I am astounded that this restaurant is rated as "one of the best" in Atlanta, GA. We would rate it mediocre at best. We found the food to be heavy and "predictable" and that would be "not in a good way."

Me and my wife ate here last Friday and had a great experience. First, we started out with a huge portion of crispy fried calamari with sliced zuchinni which could have been for four people. The calamari was lightly breaded and not overcooked with an ...

Ray's is an awesome, family friendly, pizza restaurant. I go there on Thursdays after swim practice with my daughter. The pizza is great and their grilled chicken Greek salad is to die for. One of our favorite places to go.
