I luv this restaurant!! I remember riding the bus with my mother and sisters every sat. afternoon to shop downtown and eat at Mx. Manhattan---over 30 yrs ago. The food has always been good--excellent waitstaff and the owners are as nice as their folks were. Beautiful patio, great bar area, and so glad y'all kept the lunch counter. WORTH THE TRIP DOWNTOWN !!!!

Mexican Manhattan has the best enchiladas I've ever had...they have a unique sauce and chili that cannot be found elsewhere. Although they do not give you free chips and salsa as an appetizer, the plates come with plenty of food to fill you up...and their tea usually keeps coming!

As far as dining goes, the Manhattan's food is definitely sub par. The food is overpriced without the emenities of chips and salsa as a free appetizer. The riverwalk sitting is very nice on cool days, but the inside of the restaurant reminds me of a cafeteria. For drinks the Manhattan is great - happy hour starts at 4 which means moderately priced drinks amd a free buffet until 6.
