I have been going to "Mexico" as my friends and I call Mexico Viejo for years now...used go every Wednesday. The food is not all that great EXCEPT for the cheese dip and salsa which is awesome. The margaritas are a great value and very friendly waiters. Also the cheese they use is delicious.

Jose's used to be the best place in Fayetteville for Mexican, before they had any competition (La Huerta, Oseguera's, Elenita's). I do really enjoy the Seafood Quesadilla and they have good salsa. The patio is so fun when the weather is nice.

Restaurant middle of the road in everything, even cleanliness, although service is good and employees are very nice. The building it is in is showing it's age. Could use a good wiping down, especially the window seals and such. I had a chicken chimi, tasted ok and portions were good for the price. However, 2 days later I came down with Campyobacter (bacteria causing vomiting etc which comes from undercooked poultry). I cannot PROVE it came from here and will not say it did either (could have come from cross contamination somewhere else), but was the only place I ate chicken at the entire week. Odds are I won't go back, just to err on the side of safety.
