Beti has more than ten years experience in the Ethiopian restaurant and catering business. She has catered for weddings and other events, serving up to six hundred people. She still runs the Habesha catering service.
Habesha refers to the style of cooking common to the horn of Africa countries. She had previously owned Addis Ethiopian restaurant in Oakland for six years. Beti loves cooking and is a natural. She made her first injera (Ethiopian bread) when she was with her mom, sharing the recipe over the phone. She can taste something and as soon as she finds out the spices used, she can reproduce it.
Now Beti is ready to serve the bay area, her best Ethiopian cooking along with the former chef of Mimosa cafe for healthy American food. Mimosa cafe is a half block north of the grand lake theatre at 462 Santa Clara Avenue, Oakland CA 94610.
