What a place! I heard about Nate's from a friend of mine, so I decided to try it with the wife. We walked into the bar and were greeted by a very cute and friendly bartender. We asked if they had tables and she directed us to the backroom. The place is kind of old fashioned but in a nice comfortable way. Our bartender/waitress delivered our menu's and took our drink orders. My wife's not a drinker and got the old fasioned rootbeer on tap! She said it was ice cold and delicious. I tried one of the tomato pies with sausage. It was out of this world. It was a bar pie but I'm telling you two could eat it! I had DeLorenzo's pies in Hamilton and this beats them hands down! My wife got the Chicken Marsalles dinner. It came with everything soup, salad, bread. I tried it and wow was it good. The protion was so large she took half home! The whole experience made us feel very comfortable and welcome. I couldn't believe how cheap the bill was and I had three beers. What a find, we'll definately be back! Do yourself a favor, go to Nate's!

I grew up in Hamilton Square in the 1960's - this was one of my dad's favorite Taverns for a beer - I remember when they had nothing but peanuts and hard boiled eggs! As a teenager in the early 70's it became one of my first pubs (drinking age was lo ...

This place is like stepping back in time, in a good way. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff is very friendly. I ordered the tomato pie and was very impressed. I know there's that famous place in Trenton that sells their famous tomato pies, but let me tell you, Nate's has them beat hands down! The flavor and texture were perfect, just the right blend of ingredients. The prices here are rediculously cheap. Even the beer prices are great. My girl and I sat in the seperate dining room, it was nice and cozy. They have DJ and karaoke on the weekends, it's really good fun. The people running the show are always joking around with the owner and they come up with some funny stuff. Everybody at the bar gets into the act and it's good clean fun. I would tell everybody to check this place out, it's a great place and there are very few like it left.

Nate's is one of those hidden neighborhood gems. The food is home cooked and delicious. Everything is homemade, you haven't lived until you've had one of the soups! They have steak night on Wednesday's, $8.96 for a single order or $16.95 for all you can eat. Comes with soup, salad, warm bread, seasoned potato wedges, and veggies. Nice thick juicy steak, cooked to perfection. Pizza and tomato pies that are unbeatable. Try the mustard pie, so good, trust me try it once. Some Fridays and every Saturday they have a DJ and Karaoke show. Those guys are the best, top notch all the way and funny as heck! Lots of good singers to, if you sing or just come to watch you'll have the best time. Great bartenders and friendy crowd to. Go in for like five minutes and you'll be talking to someone you didn't know just like you was friends for years. They got darts and pool to. Can't say enough about this place. Spread the word and help them stay around for another 50 years! Everybody welcome, all the time!

I love this BAR! This is what a neighborhood bar should be. They have a restaraunt/dining room, a Bar, and a Liquor store all in one spot. Local sports, classic rock and roll, lots of beer choices, and friendly bartenders! The owner Bob is alomost always there and greets all the regulars personally. The menu has all that you would expect and on weekends they have specials that are more like an upscale Gastro-Pub than the corner bar. The real standout though is the taste and value of the Tomato Pies! I love, love, love the mushroom and garlic! They are not opening a can of mushrooms when you place your order and it shows. The stomboli are also enormous and deliscious. Order and stand in awe of the flavors of the "Brutal burger"! The soups and chili are great year round but I particularly enjoy them in the winter. They also do take out! I show up "too early" and have a beer while I wait for my food. The bar lighting is a little low key so its a good place to chill. You can play pool or darts for some entertainment. When the weekend comes it is even more fun. Bring some friends and have fun. I have and I will again!

Nates Pub is so much fun and the food is great and reasonable priced. There's music on Saturday nights and the atmosphere is like that of Cheers. Everyone knows everyone and welcomes newcomers like they are old friends. This is also a very gay friendly establishment, especially on Saturday nights.

Nate's is a great bar that has been around forever. The food has always been good, and the prices are awesome. A group of us went there and got 6 pizzas for under $70 (most were plain). Nate's is happy to be what it is, and they do it well.

You'll be surprised at the extensive menu for this little pub. There are some creative choices, too -- not just bar fare. I ofted for the tomato pie with xtra cheese and was not disapointed. I ordered the bar pie and had to take half home for dinner another day. In the minus column, the smoke from the adjoining bar gave me a headache so I probably won't go there too often. Such a shame really.
