Although a great location many problems this weekend- Wait was long, I SAW a waitress drop her entire bin of silverware on the floor and restore it and after a half hour asked her if it was to be sent back to be cleaned - SHe said yes and it was never cleaned! I also saw one waitress run around for 20 minutes with tears in her eyes.
The womens room was like a PIG stye and the manager remarked to me after I brought it to her attention that "the women are the worst"!! My halibut was cold and dry- I sent it back and they simply reheated it and dried it out more. The family next to us got up to leave because dinner crew was coming in and they had not been served lunch and the manager appeased them w/ a free round of Coronas. And last but not least my patio chair had a broken leg- I got up to exchange the chair and addressed this w/ the waitress who moved it to the wall but the next couple came in and pulled it forward to use it because it. It was in harms way for an adult and I exchanged it otherwise Granpa would have tumbled over- I spent more time overseeing utensils, lavatory and furniture and was greatly disappoionted. They charged $15 for 3 medium shrimp cocktail on a larger than ordinary plate filled with ice which was the biggest rip-offf of the century.
Trust me- I write for B&B Guides in New England and am a travel writer. Tuna and PAsta were best- Halibut and Salmon were over-cooked and cold and need I repeat the cocktail was a costly disappointment. Best thing about this place is the waterfront view, handsome interior dining room and a stint of live music on the patio.

Diner
Now it's called TideWater - Excellent food, excellent view of the water at the canal. Be aware prices on high side.
Diner
Breakfast prices are very reasonable and food is served quickly. If getting combos (eg: eggs and pancakes or hashbrowns) prices are excellent. Not so good for the "healthy" choices. ***Keep in mind only cash allowed, no credit cards. And if going in ...

Okay, first of all you walk in and you feel like everyone is starring at you...When you order they try and rush you out...If you have kids this is definately not the place to go, we got thrown out because my 1 year old was crying because he was hungr ...
Diner
Continue to eat here, but just like any other diner, nothing stands out. Fast service if that's what you like. A bit on the high side for prices though but that's what you get for the Hamptons.
Diner
All the food ends up tasting the same. Boring menu but decent specials, though they mess them up a bit. Known for their wings they are some of the best out there but high on it's prices.

It is by far the best place for lunch in the Hamptons. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the ocean, bay and inlet while eating either indoors or outside. The food was outstanding, especially the seafood. The waitresses were gracious and efficient at the same time. There is both an indoor and outdoor bar as well as a comfortable place outside to have a quiet drink while veiwing the boatsw in the inlet. Drinks are pricy, but this seems to be the case all over the Hamptons.

Shrimp cocktail and shrimp main course were tasteless and didn't smell fresh. Best part of meal was Sambuca after diner. At least they couldn't ruin that. Ambiance is amazing too bad dining experience doesn't match.

We ordered a 3lb. lobster and was appalled to get a bill for $75 for that entree alone. With two appetizers and two entrees our bill was $150 with tip $168. I went into shock. I will never go back there again.

We happened upon Oakland's driving down Dune Road and stopped for a meal. The crowd was lively, the restaurant and view were beautiful, the service was great, and I had the best mussels I've ever had.

The reggae music along with the whole idea of being right on the water makes me keep coming back to Oaklands. Oh yeah, and the seafood is out of this world.

If it wasn't for the ambiance, being on the ocean, and even being able to eat outside I don't believe people would be dining here because the prices are very high for the meal. Don't mind paying high prices if the food was excellent but the food is just okay, nothing that stands out.
