Last night I met some new friends at Oba Brazilian Restaurant. We are all part of a local Portuguese Language Meetup and selected Oba as our meeting location. When I walked in I was immediately taken back to Brazil and some of the places where I had eaten while visiting friends. I was greeted by a friendly hostess/server who showed me to our table and explained the process of going through the buffet and then ordering meat from the Brazilian barbeque (All you can eat, btw)
The food was just like I remembered eating at many of the small, casual, family owned restaurants in many cities of Brazil. The meat was cooked to perfection, the salads were fresh, and the carbs were delicious; yucca, potatoes, rice, beans - it was all there. And the price was very reasonable compared to the more expensive Brazilian restaurants around town.
Midway through our dinner, the owner came over and joined our conversation.
Overall, my friends and I had an enjoyable time. Good food, good conversation, and a casual atmosphere that encourages you to stay as long as you like. I'll be back again and again. I recommend you trying it.
