My companion and I visited at 1PM on a Tuesday. For an almost empty restaurant, the service seemed slow, although our waiter was very cordial, competent and helpful.
This restaurant is in an attractive location that has housed several restaurants, most recently a Chinese buffet. For the $8 to $14 price range, the food is wildly uneven in quality. Our fish entrees were well prepared, well presented and tasty, but the "sides" were a deal breaker for me. My friend and I selected four of the side dishes, none of which was more than barely edible. They came in tiny 1/2 cup side dishes, lukewarm, dry and extremely bland; my friend asked for an order of French fries to replace one of them.
I'm not sure why Waco doesn't attract decent places to eat other than more joints serving greasy, unimaginative burgers, barbecue, chicken fried everything or bland, interchangeable Tex-Mex emporiums.
I had high hopes for Ocean Fish & Steak, but won't return after this misfire. This place wouldn't last a fortnight in Austin --or even Temple. A lot of money leaves Waco for points north and south in search of memorable dining.

Was very surprised. Looks cheesy from the outside, expected the place to be empty, but was suprised at how many people we inside. Foo was very good, a little expensive, but good. Waiter, Tim, was much better than average as a wait person. Would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed having dinner with a friend as my Birthday present. It was my first time to visit the restaurant. I fell in love with everything about it. I left saying that they should promote a Valentine's dinner special to draw a crowd. I went back to work on Monday and told all my co-workers about my wonderful experience. Looking forward to the 2nd visit.
