The chop suey house has been a fixture in Pahoa for many years now. Although the setting leaves much to be desired, (an old run-down gas station)the food here is very good and huge portions. The most popular entree is Bert's special. for about $6.25 you get about a pound each of lemon chicken and shar siu pork and about 4 cups fried rice, enough for 2-3 people and free tea. If the ambiace doesn't suit you, they have a takeout window and fast service.
