Had a wonderful time at Pasta Amore. Our reservation was for 8:00 and it took them over a half an hour to get us in. I was a bit disappointed at that but once we sat down it was wonderful. They offered gulten-free pasta and that made my night. I have stayed away from Italian in Omaha because of my Celiac Disease but the sauces were out of this world. This is a great date restaurant but avoid busy days and hours!

Service was horrible horrible horrible. The server was not busy but just terribly SLOW. We waited forever after being seated to give drink orders, another 20 minutes or more for her to come take our order, at least fifteen minutes after asking for the check to get it. The food was good but when the service is that bad the whole experience is ruined.

Perhaps what is most frustrating is that I wrote the owners about our experience and now, over a month later, no response.

I grew up in Chicago and in my 20 years in Omaha found this to be the best authentic Italian restaurant. The sauce is red and sweet like it should be the pasta is homemade and the homemade Italian salad dressing is outstanding. Here is a clue always ...

Malara's is Omaha's most classic Italian restaurant. My family is local Italian from South Omaha and literally everyone I know that is Italian in Omaha loves Malara's and would vouch for "best in Omaha". It's authentic in every way. Traditional wi ...

All I can say is that you must have had an "off" night where things wern't going accordingly. That happens in every rest/ I can guarantee you with certainty that the red sauce is NOT canned. The owner is from Sicily and goes back once a year. He is an excellent chef and puts his heart and soul into every dish. I have been to Italy, and the food at Pasta Amore was better. Perhaps you were there on a night he wasn't. Regardless, the chefs are trained to the owners standards. Try it again, try a different dish. You may be surprised.

A "B-" to "C+" Italian menu. Not so authentic for anyone who has actually dined in Sicilly. The linguine with clams is offered with red, white, or olive oil/garlic; I chose the latter. I received four or five actual small clams, and the generous portion of linguine was then covered with diced clams from a can. The olive oil/garlic combo is hard to mess up, but the cook apparently didn't wait till the pasta was fully drained before ladeling it into the bowl. My wife's seafood pasta with red sauce was a big disappointment. The calamari were poorly done, and the sauce tasted canned. The Chianti was reasonably priced and helped salvage an otherwise disappointing presentation. Overall, a disappointment after the build-up we got from a strong recommendation.

Truly authentic Sicilian dishes. Fresh pasta made on site and there is an extensive wine list. Wonderful place for first dates and special occasions. Outdoor dining when weather permits. Catering is also available.
