I have yet to be disappointed with this sushi jem tucked away in the land of strip malls.
My only desire is to change the music. Something soothing and more appropriate for the cuisine.

Just returned from our first dinner at Sakura...fantastic experience. Unbelievable quality and overall value. Neither my wife nor I could say anything negative about it. Smiling and attentive staff, great atmosphere, and excellent food. It is my new favorite restaurant.
When our party arrived at the restaurant they couldn't locate out reservation. However, the hostess who seated us indicated that she was the person that I spoke to over the phone when I made ther restervation. Although we were off to a rocky start

The good: Excellent sushi and sashimi quality. Also, the miso soup was wonderful with its complex flavors.
The bad: A gong is struck as new parties arrive, drawing sometimes unwanted attention. The music did not match the restuarant at all -- it was some sort of pop and a bit depressing.
The service: Very nice wait staff, but not well trained. We had to waive down the server for another round of beer (when there were only two other occupied tables). He also reached over our plates to remove chop stick wrappers -- unnecessary.
Summary: Change the radio station, stop the gonging, keep an eye on your customers, and you'll do great!

Only flaw that makes my food rating 3 stars is the lettuce, tired iceberg. Everything else on the menu is 5 stars, to-notch quality. Ambiance is low key but very neighborly and friendly.
