We are a family owned restaurant specializing in home-style cooking form El Salvador & Central America. Our recipes began back in our homeland of El Salvador, where Nina Martha became known in the neighborhood for delicious tamales de pollo, de elote, & various other homemade meals. She would send her daughter, Miriam, to deliever these meals to the workers at the "fincas", fields of corn. Coffee beans, watermelon. Eventually, due to the Civil War in El Salvador, the family relocated to the United States. They first settled in Santa Ana, CA in the mid 80's. Though there they never actually owned a restaurant, Miriam did continue the food sales tradition with her children. She would make "pupusas" to sell at local soccer games. These were a hit with everyone! Eventually, the family relocated ti Phoenix, AZ. It was here that Miriam decided to fulfil a long-time dream of hers, open up her own restaurant. The first location was opened in 2002 in Mesa, AZ. At near 1000 sq ft, it didn't take long for the location to fill up with customers savoring the pupusas revueltas y de loroco, bistec encebollados, sopa de res con chipilin. In 2005 Salvadoreno Restaurant #2 was opened in Phoenix, AZ. At 3500 sq ft, this location is used for regular everyday dining as well as dinner parties in its separate halls. And now in 2008, the 3rd location was opened in North Central Phoenix. From anywhere that you sit you can view the Sunnyslope Mountain or Squaw Peak, Its open window format reminds some natives of El Savador of the "volcanes". Volcanoes one can view throughout the country. Anywhere you are in the east, west, or north side of the valley, you can join us and savour our delicious homestyle cooking! Los Esperamos!
