Therre's no other Soul Food Restaurant that really speaks to the palate as Country Kitchen. The food is truly a combination of southern cuisine and the essence of Soul. I've eaten at "Sylvia's", Amy Ruth but I keep coming back to Country Kitchen

I'd rate the Cafe as the best of many mediocre restaurants on Montague Street. The menu is pretentious for this area, but the food is competently prepared. When crowded, it's very noisy. Service ranges from good to erratic.

I have visited Country Kitchen on many occasions and have never been disappointed... the fried chicken is out of this world..I can truly say this one of the only true examples of down home cooking left in NYC...and you can also enjoy a great Karaeoke
