I am so happy that there now is a Taco Boy on my side of town - Wyoming. So reminescent of Ole Taco and even better! As a past employee of Ole Taco (20+ years ago), I can say the only thing closer is Taco Boy. Love the Green Meat (spicy pork) , and the tacos are outstanding for the price ! Nope.. you cannot get this kind of taste, quality, or value for such at Taco Bell.
I`d have to say though, the Ole Taco`s hot sauce in the packets was the whip!
uhhhhh so hungrey now!

Taco Boy is the best fast food mexican you can get. It's close to Ole Taco because Ole Taco originated from Taco Boy. Goes to show you that Ole is gone and Taco Boy is here! IT'S THE BEST! There homemade hot sauce kicks Taco Bells any day of the week. They make there refried beans from scratch and they are the best I have ever had. I have had just about everything there and I love it all. So if you want fast mexican food skip the Bell and go for Boy!

Taco Boy is the only place to get fast (and delicious) food in Grand Rapids. The original restaurant on Plainfield in Grand Rapids is the one to go to. The one in cascade lacks something that the Plainfield location has down pact. This is a great restaurant for anyone who loves Mexican food.

The sauce is weak. The burrito was blah. If you are looking for a more expensive but close facsimile to Taco Bell, then Taco Boy will do. Even Taco Bell has better sauce, and that is quite sad. If you want a better burrito, "authenticity" but in a drive-thru, go to downtown's Adobe. And by the way, writer below, that Ole' Taco's sauce was a hundred times better, they're wet burritos by far superior, to Taco Boy. You have a very poor memory. (Gawd, Taco Boy doesn't even carry guacamole.)

Because it's fast-food, I don't need all the bells and whistles. Like many have already said, the food is delicious and it's mainly because it tastes a lot like Ole' Taco. Man, do I miss Ole' Taco, but Taco Boy is a good substitution

The tacos kick! The shells are made on site and they have the squeeze bottle of hot sause that can't be beat.
I agree it's the closest to the dearly departed Ole' Tacos which is second only to Mr. Fables in terms of GR's lost fast food treasures.

This is the closest I have found so far to Ole Taco, which I truly miss. The red meat and bean burrito with cheese is addictive. Also, the tostadas are similar to Ole Taco's.

Reminiscent of Ole Taco, this place's tacos are the best ff meat tacos I've had in a long time. Not authentic Mexican, and like I said, reminiscent of the Ole Taco meat recipe, only a little drier (which actually made the thing easier to eat :-)) The fresh taco shells were nicely shingled so they held the generous lettuce and tomatoes (diced, perfect size) - I added one mild sauce and I was transported back to the late night drive through in the good "OLE" days......:-)

If you want great tasting Mexican food, then this is place to go. It's basically a fast food place, but it's a local fast food place, it doesn't have that corporate feel to it like a Taco Bell has. The food is outstanding. It's a touch more pricey than Taco Bell but well worth it. Great flavor, big portions and all homemade. I recommend trying the Super 1/2 lbs dry burrito, the super 1/2 lbs wet (oh that sauce!!), the tostada, the red meat burrito, the enchilada dinner, pinto's and cheese and throw a Choco-taco on there for good measure.

If you live in the GR area and haven't been there, you're missing out.
